>Almost every morning I wake up at about 6:30 or 6:45, look at the clock, realise what the time is and go back to sleep until my alarm rings at 7:30. Then I hit snooze a bunch of times. I’m awesome like that. I understand that biologically (or some shite like that) I should just get the hell up when I naturally wake up, but I love sleeping in. There are days on the weekend when I hardly roll out of bed at all. I think about stuff and daydream and just, well… rest.
As usual, I woke up this morning before the alarm went off. But this morning I did something different. Instead of looking at the clock (it is, after all, always around 6:30), I just rolled over and went back to sleep. I’m a moron.
Turns out that I forgot to set my alarm last night. When I woke up the second time, I felt as though the alarm should have rang already. I looked at the clock – it was 09:07. And I thought to myself, “Fuck me.”
Work starts at 09:00.
Good thing I occasionally have bedhead on purpose, because no one commented on my actual bedhead this morning. Also, good thing I’m a four minute walk to work. I woke up at 09:07 and walked in the office at 09:27.
Still, not the best start to the day. You had better believe I’m setting my alarm right……… now.

At least you biologically wake up an hour before your alarm…. I am not so lucky. My house is equipped with the KeseyCat2000, that finds it amusing to drag his nails down the walls, get tangled in the metal blinds, knocks over lamps and play with his stupid cat toys TWO hours before I have to get up. The KeseyCat2000 is a very advanced model, as he is programed to know when I am supposed to get up, and adjusts his schedule accordingly. For example, I also usually get up at 7:30am PST, so he usually begins his escapades at 5:30am. Today, I had to get up at 6:30am, as I am driving to Edmonton at 7:00am. The bastard started his routine at 4:30AM! As soon as you are awake and turn the light on, the KeseyCat2000 shuts down and hibernates. Not Available In Stores!
