Because then *I* fill them out. It is a horrible cycle. Then again, if it weren’t for things like these… I wouldn’t be blogging at all. The thing is, there isn’t much going on right now. Mostly just work and home. And the other stuff that is going on is going on inside my head and I don’t feel like sharing it with you.
LAST PERSON WHO
1. Slept in a bed beside you:
Brendan. Life would be so much easier if he just moved to Suji. Then he could still visit the girls and sleep in his own bed.
2. Saw you cry:
It took me awhile to remember this one as I do hate to cry in front of people. And now that I remember I don’t want to talk about it. Sorry.
3. Went to the movies with you:
I saw The Prestige with Brendan and Brittany.
4. You went to the mall with:
Brittany, Stef, and Brendan. We drank beers at O’Kim’s inside the Coex.
5. You went to dinner with:
Galbi with Su and Amelia. It was lovely. We should do it more often!
6. You talked on the phone:
My moms and Colin on Saturday night. Between the two of them I was on the phone for 5.5 hours between 12:30 and 6:00 am. It was completely worth it. I miss you both!
7. Said, ‘I love you’ to you and really meant it:
8. Broke your heart:
I would never give anyone the power of knowing that they had hurt me in anyway. Everyone must believe at all times that I am invincible.
9. Made you laugh:
Probably one of the kids. Today wasn’t one of my more chucklicious days though.
WOULD YOU RATHER?
1. Pierce your nose or tongue:
I have already pierced my nose so I think I would have to go with the tongue next time. Maybe I should see if there is any place to do this in Korea…
2. Be serious or be funny:
You make it sound like there is a choice! Even when I’m supposed to be serious, I try my hand at funny. Now, other people may not find me funny, but I certainly do.
3. Drink whole or skim milk:
Skim all the way. I like my milk ice cold only – and only skim can get that cold. If I wanted to chew a dairy product I would buy some fucking ice cream.
4. Die in a fire or drown:
I think drowning would be more peaceful than dying in a fire. I’m afraid though that I’m going to die in a car accident (which will probably involve burning). I’m never afraid on or near the water, but I’m always nervous when driving with other people.
5. Spend time with your parents or enemies:
Some days they are one and the same, eh moms?? Just kidding! I would rather spend time with my moms.
1. Simple or complicated:
This one is complicated. I try to be simple on the outside, because complications are NOT COOL. But what goes on in my head is generally so screwed up that I can’t explain it anyway. I’m not saying that I’m complex or deep… I’m a bit screwed up. I just try not to let people see how screwed up.
Gay as in happy or gay as in homosexual? Because right now dudes… I’m not really either.
I WANT to be hardcore. But I’m mediumcore. TO THE MAX!
DO YOU PREFER…
1. Flowers or candy:
My first reaction was: Don’t buy me off… use your words (if you have screwed up) or your imagination (if it is a gift). But then I thought about people other than a boyfriend (which I don’t have anyway) that could get me this sort of gift. And I think flowers would be nicer. Unless the candy is sour cola bottles, skor bars, or red-hot feet. Then… well, then.
2. Grey or black:
I love the colour grey, but I can’t wear it. I painted the walls in my condo in Vancouver "Dolphin Grey". Carey thought I was crazy, as the skies in Vancouver are often grey and the colour can be… well, depressing. But once the paint was on the walls she said, "I don’t know how you did it. But if it is possible to have a "happy" grey… this is a happy grey!" I thought so too. (Thanks again for helping me paint those horrible walls and ceilings, Carebear!) When it comes to clothes, I would rather wear black. And you know what I hate most? When black clothes turn grey. NOT COOL.
3. Color or Black and white photos:
I really like both. I look better in black and white (I’m not very photogenic and EVERYONE seems to look better in black and white), but colour photos capture moments that B&W can’t… like the colour of the ocean in Malaysia.
4. Lust or love:
People, people, people! Can’t I just get a little of both here?!? I’m not picky or selfish… they don’t have to be at the same time or from the same person…
5. Sunrise or sunset:
I love the sunset when you are out on the porch, having some beers and watching the sun go down with some cool tunes playing in the background and some great people (or even just a great person) to chat with. I also dig sunrise though – whether I have been up all night or woken up early to see it (guess which one happens more often).
6. M&Ms or Skittles:
I like Peanut M&Ms more than regular Skittles. But I like Sour Skittles more than regular M&Ms.
8. Staying up late or waking up early:
Staying up late, beyond a doubt. I love sleeping in more than anything!
ANSWER TRUTHFULLY !!
1. Do you like anyone:
I hate everyone. And if I don’t currently hate you… I’m probably trying to find a reason to hate you. (Unless you are my moms)
2. Do they know it:
See, here’s the thing. If I did like someone (and I’m not saying that I DO), I certainly wouldn’t want them to find out by reading my blog (not assuming that they WOULD read my blog). Actually, I wouldn’t want them to find out at all. For how boisterous and noisy I can be, I’m actually very shy about this sort of thing.
DO YOU PREFER…
1. Sun or moon:
The moon. I like the night more than the day.
2. Winter or Fall:
Fall is my favourite season.
3. Left or right:
I usually go with the more sinister of any option… so I’m going to vote left.
4. 10 acquaintances or having two best friends:
If you could count on them always: two best friends. But people generally let you down at some point or another… so in that case maybe just acquaintances would be better. That way they couldn’t hurt you because you wouldn’t actually be very close to any of them.
5. Sun or rain:
I actually prefer the rain if I don’t have anywhere in particular to be.
6. Vanilla ice cream or chocolate ice cream:
Definitely chocolate ice cream. Oh damn! Unless you are making a root beer float. Then vanilla.
7. Vodka or Jack:
I never drink vodka or rum. So Jack it is!!
1. What time is it:
I promise that I’m not being weird about this one… but people rarely address me directly by my name or a nickname. If they do, the only names I get are variations on my name (Jo, Jode, Jodes, Jodler). The only two nicknames I can think of that are variants of this rule are Kermit (from Carey) and Pumpkin (from Moms). And I’m not being paranoid. People rarely call me by any name.
4. Where were you born:
New Westminster, BC, Canada
5. What is your birth date:
April 5, 1976
6.What do you want:
I thought about a lot of ways to answer this (most of them involving me trying to be funny)… but the most truthful answer is this: I simply want to be happy. That’s all. Other than that, I don’t know really what I want. I hope that one day I will figure out what it is I want most. Then I can go after it. Then I can achieve it (or so I believe) and THEN I will be happy… which is what I really want!
7. Where do you want to live:
I would live anywhere that feels like home. Home would have nothing to do with geography or political boundries. I wouldn’t worry about nationalities or how many times over the course of my life I would have to move. Cheesy as this sounds… home is wherever your heart is… so as long as I was with people I love and who love me… I would be home. PS: I would also like to be near the ocean. HA!
8. How many kids do you want:
I would really only want to birth one. If I was with someone who wanted more (and I would try to convince him to stop at two) then I would want to adopt a child that needs a good home. There’s a pantsload of them out there!
9. What would you want to name a girl:
I have a fixation with the letter X in a girl’s name. X’s are cool. So I like Oryx or Huxley. But I do also like Molly. Bet you guys didn’t think I would have an answer to this one, eh?
10. What would you want to name a boy:
I really like the name Salinger.
11. You want to get married:
How to answer this one? I would LIKE to get married… but if I don’t then that could be cool too. I definitely want to be sure I’m with the right dude because I only want to do it once. So I had better get it right the first time. The trick will be to find a guy who is willing to tolerate me for that much time!
1. Nervous Habits:
I clean things. True story. When I am waiting to do something that makes me nervous, I have to keep moving so I usually clean my house. Unless I’m at your house. Then I would clean your house. Please don’t attempt to invite me over and make me nervous. It doesn’t work that way.
2. Are you double jointed:
I believe my right ankle is. At any rate… it does tricks.
3. Can you roll your tongue:
Only weiners can’t roll their tongues. I’m not a weiner.
4. Can you raise one eyebrow:
I do this so much that one of my eyebrows is permanently higher than the other. Seriously.
5. Can you cross your eyes:
This is an essential part of my classroom repertoire. I’m an awesome teacher.
6. Do you make your bed daily:
I try to make it daily and usually get half the days done. Does that count??
7. Which shoe goes on first:
I think the left. Maybe the right. Oh God, now I have to pay attention to which flipping shoe I put on first and then try to determine what that says about my personality.
8. Ever thrown one at someone:
Not since I was a kid or in a TKD sparring match.
9. On the average, how much money do you carry on you:
"I’m living so far beyond my income that we may almost be said to be living apart." ee cummings
One must first HAVE money in order to CARRY it.
10. What jewelry do you wear:
Usually a necklace of some sort and a ring. I have to take them off for TKD every night though so during the week I get lazy and wear neither. However, since it was put in, I have a small earring at the top of my right ear that has never been taken out.
1. Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it:
How are you supposed to get it on your fork if you cut it? Retard. I twirl it, and I do it without a safety net (a spoon).
2. Have you ever eaten Spam:
I seem to recall my mother feeding me Spam when we were kids. I don’t hold that against her. I wouldn’t eat it now.
3. Favorite ice cream:
Rolo ice cream.
4. How many kinds of cereal are in your cabinet:
I don’t actually eat cereal in Korea.
5. What’s your favorite beverage:
I want to have three favourites. So I’m having three: Beer, coffee, and iced tea. In that order.
7. Do you cook:
"Do" I? Or "Can" I? These are two different things. I can certainly cook. I’m pretty good at it. No, I won’t cook for you. I hate cleaning up so I don’t cook very often. I have been trying to more lately though… it works about half the time (actually, about the same averages work for me cooking as me making the bed. Strange.)
IN THE LAST MONTH, HAVE YOU? (YES OR NO)
1. Had a b/f or g/f:
2. Bought something you didn’t need:
Yes. No. Well, I can think of people who might suggest that I didn’t "need" a Nintendo DS or a new guitar… but I thought that I needed it. "Need" seems to be a rather slippery concept.
4. Sang in front of people:
I have to sing in front of my class all the time. And, truth be told, even when I don’t *have* to (ie: singing time) I do anyway. I make up songs with their names and stuff. I’m sure they love it.
5. Been kissed:
Friend kiss on the cheek? Check. Real kiss? Gonna have to leave this box blank. Sigh.
6. Been hugged:
Yes. A few friend hugs and a bajillion little monkey-hugs.
7. Felt stupid:
I feel kind of stupid doing this survey right now. I felt stupid tonight in TKD (to the point where I was angry about it) because I haven’t gone to class in a long time and couldn’t remember how to do the poomse. I found out earlier that I have been mispronouncing "Phnom Penh" my whole life, which makes me feel stupid. I misbudgeted my money again this month, which makes me feel stupid. I had to look up how to spell "mispronouncing", which made me feel stupid. Do I have to keep going?? That’s five just from tonight.
9. Got drunk:
Actually, although I have been drinking a few times this month, the last time I got good and drunk was New Years Eve (thanks to Amelia!).
10. Got high:
Not in Korea, good buddy! Not in Korea.
11. Danced Crazy:
Danced badly? Oh yes. Every time I do it, actually. Which has been a few times this month. Crazy?? I don’t think so…
12. Gotten your hair cut:
Yes – I have bangs again.
Yes. For real (which I won’t share about) and for fun (stupid 24! Be less traumatizing!).
Yes. But mostly to myself.
