So, I didn’t blog about Malaysia. I was thinking about adding a note about it now. Although I don’t think it will be very exciting. See, I did a whole lot of nothing. And it was glorious!
I arrived in Langkawi on Friday evening. I was tired and worn out – flying and lay-overs in airports will do that to a gal. But when I got to Zachary’s guesthouse, Mrs. Zachary asked if I wanted to head to the bar they were building on site for a beer. Which I did want. So I went.
The entire week I was there, Zachary’s Guesthouse and Joe’s Bar were amazing. The friendliest people work/live/stay there. It was nice to spend my time with them.
Highlights of the trip included a spectacular sunburn and being offered a job in the bar next September. Which I think I will try to do – if Joe hasn’t hired someone else by then.
Mostly I spent my days cruising around the Island on a scooter, swimming in the ocean, lying on the beach, drinking things out of coconuts and napping with a book. I spent my nights in Joe’s Bar drinking beers, playing guitar and generally enjoying myself. I did get to see a lot of monkeys, which I support.
Christmas was fantastic – there was turkey and everything! My first turkey dinner in two years!! Thanks Joe!
I think I didn’t spend too much time doing much because I needed to just chill and I feel like I will be back there one day. I HOPE to be back there one day. It was a sweet place to be.
I might add more about my time there as I think of things. But for now… I had a great time and if you have the means, I highly recommend you go.
